A record 1,150 people attended the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE) 2024 Annual Conference, held in Seattle, Washington March 13-16, including 500 first-time attendees. The 18th Annual Conference included daily keynotes, dozens of concurrent sessions, the annual membership meeting, the 2024 Inclusive Excellence Award ceremony, and more.
"Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and presented at our 2024 Annual Conference," said Paulette Granberry Russell, president and CEO of NADOHE. "I know it was a much needed reminder for many of us that we are not alone in this work as it is under attack by those seeking to undo decades of progress. I hope everyone left with some motivation and tools to keep pushing forward to ensure inclusive excellence for future generations."
At the annual membership meeting, Granberry Russell introduced two new NADOHE board members: Menah Pratt, Ph.D., J.D., and Regina Dixon-Reeves, Ph.D. Christopher Whitt, Ph.D., and James Felton III will continue on the board.
"Additionally, as a reflection of the growth and evolution of our Association, we have updated the bylaws to include a new structure of the board," said Granberry Russell. "Clyde Wilson Pickett, Ed.D., will serve as chair, Caroline Laguerre-Brown, J.D., will serve as first vice chair, and Yvette Alex-Assensoh, Ph.D., J.D., will serve as second vice chair. Lisa Givan will serve as secretary, and Rich Salas, Ph.D., will continue in his role as treasurer. I will continue to serve as president and CEO."
Granberry Russell also announced the board's approval of NADOHE's newest chapter. The Pacific Northwest Chapter is the Association's 19th chapter, providing members opportunities to connect with colleagues and access resources relevant to their geographic area and/or area of interest.
