NADOHE Will Not Waver

On February 3, 2025, NADOHE President and CEO, Paulette Granberry Russell, announced the Association had joined as lead plaintiff in a federal lawsuit against the Trump Administration. Filed by Democracy Forward on behalf of NADOHE and several co-plaintiffs, challenges the reckless and unconstitutional executive orders signed by President Trump shortly after taking office that seek to dismantle the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility within the fabric of our federal government and beyond.

March 15, 2025

On March 14, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals granted the government's motion for a stay of the preliminary injunction until the government's appeal of the injunction is resolved. Along with granting the stay, the Court of Appeals also stated that it will order an expedited briefing schedule for the appeal to more fully consider the constitutional questions at stake. March 11, 2025

NADOHE welcomes two filings by the federal district court that preserved the nationwide preliminary injunction in favor of our organization and co-plaintiffs and that clarified the broad reach of the injunction against enforcement of the executive orders that target diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read more.

In the first signifiant legal victory, a federal court issued a nationwide preliminary injunction against the provisions of President Trump’s harmful anti-DEI Executive Orders, in the lawsuit spearheaded by NADOHE. Read more.
