Wishing Our Members an Impactful Academic Year

September 5, 2024

As the new academic year begins, I hope many of you are enjoying welcome-back events and soaking up the energy and excitement of new and returning students arriving on campus. The start of a new year is always a helpful reminder of why we must continue to strive for inclusive excellence in higher education.

While we know this semester promises to be challenging, marked by conflict and uncertainty, it is also a time of opportunity to embrace our roles in fostering inclusive and equitable environments. As diversity professionals, our expertise is invaluable in helping our institutions respond and act thoughtfully in the face of complex and divisive issues.

As you face this semester, I want to remind you that you are not alone in your work. I encourage you to lean on your NADOHE network and resources designed to support you, including our Communication Guide, Chapters, CDO Check-ins, webinars, and more. These tools are meant to help us share strategies, uplift one another, and collectively navigate the complexities we face.

Thank you for your commitment and the impactful work you do every day. Wishing you all a rewarding academic year ahead.

Sincerely,

Paulette Granberry Russell, J.D.
President and CEO, NADOHE
